JMU Dukes

There are many things I love about JMU.  First, I really love the environment and atmosphere that is created throughout campus.  I love that everyone is so friendly, even to the point where holding the door for the person behind you is the norm.  I also really love the size.  JMU is by no means a small school, but it is also not so big to the point where all of your classes are 300 people lectures where all your professors know you as is another name on the roster.

I love that my professors really make an effort to get to know not only my name, but who I really am.  For the most part, I have really felt like most of my professors really cared about my learning and were there to help when I needed them.  There are always exceptions to the rule, but I definitely notice this more and more as I get into more upper-level classes.

I have made so many friends and developed many lasting relationships while at JMU.  I have also learned many valuable lessons about people and friends and how to deal with all types of people.
While I have been at JMU I have definitely done a lot of growing up.

As a freshman my older sister was a senior at JMU, and then when I was a sophomore she was here for another year as she completed her masters.  My sister and I are very close and having her here with me definitely made it a completely different experience than I probably would have had if she were not.  Her being a student played a large role in my decision to come to JMU, and I think she was definitely one of the reasons I fell in love with the school even before I was a student.
