Okay, so now for the translation of what that actually means…

1.     If you were on a tight budget and could only afford one of your favorite magazines (I know, I love them all too!), what would it be? What is your favorites section/part of that magazine?

  • Well, personally I have a few favorites… But the two that I absolutely could not live without (I would rather buy them than groceries, if money was tight!) are Vogue and Glamour.  I love Vogue for obvious reasons… It is a classic! What girl doesn’t love it!? I don’t know if I have one favorite section because I love all of it, but if I had to pick, one of my favorite parts to read is the Contributors section. I love reading what they have to say and I think their stories are always so interesting!
  • What I love about Glamour is that I feel like it is more aimed at everyday people. I feel like the things that are advertised and the stories that are in it are things that I can definitely relate to more than the extremely high dollar, high-end designers that are sprinkled throughout Vogue!

2.     If I were a shoe, I would be…

  • A Jimmy Choo Black Patent Leather Pump because it is so classic, but it still has a ton of style and is fashion forward.  In my opinion, a good pair of black patent leather pumps is a staple that every girl should always have in her closet.  It is a timeless fashion that is always in style and can really be worn with almost anything! In addition to all of the fabulous things that this shoe has to offer/represents, I would be a Jimmy Choo pump, because Jimmy Choo is my favorite shoe designer!

3.     My fashion crush (idol, inspiration, admirer, the list could go on forever…) is…

  • Coco Chanel.  She is my fashion crush because she has given us so much, and has really been one of the key players that has led us to where we are today in terms of fashion.  Without her contributions such as the little black dress (I don’t think we can ever thank her enouh for that one!), and the ever popular boxy jacket that has yet to go out of style, we would not possibly be where we are now.
  • She also gave us so many inspirational quotes and so many little tidbits of wisdom with her words.  With so many of her quotes being known by more than just fashion lovers such as myself, she really has impacted the world in a way no one could have imagined a clothing designer and fashinista would.  I hope that one day I can look back on my endeavors and my career and see that I have done even a fraction of what she accomplished in her lifetime.

4.     If I were stranded on an island and could only have two make-up products, they would be…

  • Mascara and Bronzer:
    • False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara from Mac – This mascara is the one of the most amazing products I have ever used… I am all about spending a little more money on makeup and other beauty products, because they go on your face and that is one area that should not be skimped on (I am all about saving money in almost every other area of life!), but as a broke college student spending $21 on mascara is not something I was able to justify for a good amount of time.  But, when I finally broke down and just spent the extra money it was such a bitter sweet because it made my eyelashes (and eyes in general!) look amazing, but I knew that I could never go back to buying the mascara that I used to use from Target or the grocery store!
    • True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer (Sunkissed) by Clinique – or as my roommate and I call it, our “glow”.  I am a pretty fair skinned person (especially in the winter!), so I am really weary when it comes to bronzer, but this one is absolutely amazing.  It isn’t too dark (or orangey) to where it looks fake, but it gives you just the right amount of color and I feel like it really does make my face “glow”!
  • These two products are the ones that I wear absolutely everyday! Even when I bum it and spend the whole day in the library, you will find that I have both of these on my face (usually nothing else, but whatever!). The only place I can confidently say that I don’t wear either product is to the gym, and that would just be silly!

5.   I keep my skin looking fabulous and flawless by… (what are your go-to products?!)

  • Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash – Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub
  • Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser
  • Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturizer
  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream – I know, I know, but I am just trying to do a little preventative maintenance!

6.     I blog because… (Tell me when and why you started blogging, and then why you continued after you initially started!)

  • Read all about this here. I blog as a way of expressing my personal style and my love of fashion.  I hope that, by blogging, if I can reach even one person and have an impact on their style and fashion sense, I would be happy with that!

7.     If I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose…

  • New York City.  With plans of moving there at some point in the next year (after graduation), it really is my dream location to live… at least for a little while! When I was 6 years old, my family took a mini road trip along the east coast and each of the 4 of us got to choose a place that we wanted to go.  Well, needless to say, I chose New York City.  As soon as we arrived, I fell in love instantly.  I will never forget ( and neither will my dad!) when I looked up at my dad and said, “Daddy, I am going to live here one day.” And to this day, it is still my dream.  And with hopes of pursuing a career in fashion, it’s a good thing, because that really is where I need to be!

8.     When I grow up I want to be… (If you could be absolutely anything, what is your dream/ideal career!?)

  • Anna Wintour… haha just kidding! Well… kind of. Being the editor-in-chief of Vogue is my ideal career and has always been my dream, but more realistically… I want to work in the marketing/business side of fashion in some way.  Whether that is buying, social media, public relations, editorial, you name it, I’m not sure, but that is what I am currently working on figuring out!

9.     My favorite designer is…

  • Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo.  When it comes to everyday items such as handbags, accessories, clothing, etc. I absolutely love Michael Kors. But, when it comes to shoes, Jimmy Choo is my main man! I absolutely love him and I don’t think I have ever met a pair of his shoes that I didn’t love!

10.  My favorite quote is… Because… (What are your go-to words of wisdom from a fellow fashionista and why?)

  • “You live but once; you might as well be amusing.” –Coco Chanel

This is my favorite quote because it really is so true! You only live once, so why should you live worrying about what other people are thinking or doing? Live your life for yourself and make it fun, make it amusing.  This is definitely the way that I live my life and I think that if more people did, the world would be a happier place! I absolutely love laughing and smiling and I fell that without laughter and fun, you have nothing!

11.  My rock is… (Who in your life inspires you and has helped you get where you are today?) My Big Sister And Best Friend Danielle And Me In New York City

  • My big sister, Danielle.  Ever since I was a little girl my big sister has been my idol.  I have always looked up to her and wantedto be exactly like her.  I think the only area in life that I have not followed in the same (or a similar) path that she has taken is when it comes to my career path.  She is a pre-school teacher in Fairfax, VA where she is part of the HeadStart program.  She has been through so much in her short two-year career as a teacher and still holds her head high and goes to work with a smile, giving those kids everything she has.  I wish I was half the person that she is and I hope that I can one day be as kind and patient as she is.  I know that, no matter what it is, I can always go to her and that she will not judge or make fun of me,  She truly is my best friend and I would not trade her and our relationship for anything in the entire world.

12.  With the abundance of free time I have (don’t we all wish this was the case!), I like to…

  • Read (some of my favorite books are: the 50 Shades Trilogy, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, all of Nicholas Sparks’ books, White Dresses, and Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man – plus so many more!)
  • Workout/Go Running
  • Paint my nails
  • Watch Law and Order: SVU (In my fantasy world I would be as amazing and bad ass as Olivia is!)
