Guest Post: Jenna Of Jenna Lee Ann

Good morning and happy Wednesday ladies! Today we have a super awesome and extremely gorgeous guest blogger… Jenna of Jenna Lee Ann.  Her blog is absolutely amazing, and like me, she is in her last year of college! With a super busy schedule and dreams of making it in the New York City fashion scene, I think she and I have a lot more in common that I ever thought! Her blog is hands down one of my new favorites, and I have recently added it to the list of blogs I read daily! Make sure you check it out… I know you’re going to love it as much as I do! But… anyway, without further ado, here she is ladies and gentlemen!

Before we get into our Q&A, here is a little about Jenna and her blog…

The absolutely stunning Jenna of Jenna Lee Ann.

My full name is Jenna LeeAnn D’Amico. That’s where I got the name for my blog, Jenna LeeAnn. I’m a small town girl waiting to move back to the city. I’m 21 years young with enough motivation for everyone. I’m going to school (last year, yay!) to get my bachelor’s degree in business management. I owned my own clothing line for a year and decided to wait and reopen it after I graduate. I like to have a busy schedule; people may think I’m crazy. I’m obsessed with my puppy, Oscar. I am a huge family girl. Anything fashion related is a passion of mine. I spend most of my time shopping, my Dad had to turn a separate room into my walk in closet when I was in high school and was able to start affording my own shopping trips (this is where I got in trouble). I am super personable and social, and love to answer peoples’ questions about entrepreneurship or fashion. I am very active on my Twitter @JennaLeeAnnLLC. Tweet me anytime!

Okay, so now for the translation of what that actually means…

1.     If you were on a tight budget and could only afford one of your favorite magazines (I know, I love them all too!), what would it be? What is your favorite section/part of that magazine?

  • I’m a Cosmopolitan girl. Something about this magazine just draws me straight to it when I’m in the aisle at the grocery store! I could read Cosmo forever. Vogue is a close second (I know this answer is cheating a little bit, sorry!). This may sound silly, but I love the pictures. And not because I hate reading, but because the pictures give me so much inspiration! I cut them out, and make an inspiration board to help me create new outfit ideas!

2.     If I were a shoe, I would be…

  • A Christian Louboutin Black Patent Pump for sure. It’s so timeless and goes with almost any style! I always say when I buy my first pair (no I do not own a pair…YET), I will put them on display and only wear them for special occasions such as an interview or fashion event! These shoes are like me, can work with any outfit. I feel like my style changes on how I feel when I wake up. Sometimes I just walk out of the house in a V-neck and jeans, other times I walk out of the house in a Moto jacket and my Seven for All Mankind skinnies with leather boots.

3.     My fashion crush (idol, inspiration, admirer, the list could go on forever…) is…

  • I have to stick with Lauren Conrad for this one. Because of her, I have gained so much motivation for pursuing my dream in the fashion industry. She has such a classy style, and a natural talent for everything fashion-related. Not to mention, she’s gorgeous. Her clothing line, her blog, and her jobs on The Hills, taught me a lot about style and how to work towards my dream career. Thanks, Lauren!

4.     If I were stranded on an island and could only have two make-up products, they would be…

  • Eyeliner and Bronzer.

My favorite eyeliner is the Maybelline Unstoppable waterproof black eyeliner. I have tried more than half of the eyeliners out there, and they ALWAYS run down my eyes and make me look like a raccoon! This eye liner has worked the best for me. So if you have a similar problem, give this product a try! Plus it’s only about $7 or 8$…bonus!

I don’t really have a favorite bronzer, I feel like I switch them up a lot. But I would definitely take bronzer with me because I have dark features, and who wants to be pale with black hair and brown eyes (Though some people can pull it off, just not this girl, trust me). Also, my skin is naturally pretty tan, but my face for some reason, my face does not want to get color. So without bronzer, my body is like a color block look…weird, I know.

5.     I keep my skin looking fabulous and flawless by… (what are your go-to products?!)

  • Olay Moisturizer (once a day)
  • Olay fresh effects makeup remover(at night, I only use it on my face, not my eyes)
  • Neutrogena Makeup Remover oil-free (I only use this at night)

I don’t do much to my skin, I naturally have flawless skin(that’s probably my only flawless feature), so I don’t ever get acne or pimples. The reason I mentioned a couple makeup removers is because I feel that removing your makeup at night is key to a great look the next day. Of course everyone’s routine is different, that’s just mine! And moisturize daily! That’s how you will stay looking young, just ask Pharrell Williams! 😉

6.     I blog because… (Tell me when and why you started blogging, and then why you continued after you initially started!)

  • I started my blog when I started my first online clothing boutique. I had my boutique for a year, and once it started getting busier, I realized I didn’t have the amount of time to put all of my effort into it like I wish I could. I’m in school full time, as well as working two jobs full time. I realized that blogging has a flexible schedule, and gives me the chance to stay in the loop with fashion. I’ve had a lot of experience in the fashion industry already, so I love to share my stories and tips! Check out my post on how I made it into the industry and what I have accomplished!

7.     If I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose…

  • New York City or Los Angeles! I lived in mid-town Manhattan for a few months, and I LOVED it. The only reason I would choose LA first is because of the weather. Growing up in New England, I’m used to the cold. However, I always get sick in the winter and I absolutely hate it! Also, since I have experienced NYC, I would love to experience California next. This way I can try something new. If you lived in or near LA, e-mail me on your opinion of it! I plan on moving there after graduation (I graduate the end of this year!).

8.     When I grow up I want to be… (If you could be absolutely anything, what is your dream/ideal career!?)

  • I hope to either move my way up in the business side of Michael Kors (I did my internship there), or own my own chain clothing store! I loved being a retail buyer for my own line! I mean let’s be honest, who wouldn’t love to shop for a living!? Haha.

9.     My favorite designer is…

  • Michael Kors 100%. The reason I choose him is not only because of his lovely talent for fashion, but when I interned there, he was there every step of the way, working hard to maintain number 1 in the fashion industry. I know a few other designers that are barely in the office, and are out and about vacationing (hey, nothing wrong with that, they have the money!), but seeing Michael Kors there almost every day working, made me gain a lot of respect for him and his passion for his clothing/accessory lines.

10.  My favorite quote is… Because… (What are your go-to words of wisdom from a fellow fashionista and why?)

“People will stare, make it worth their while.”-Harry Winston.

  • I love this quote because it bounces off the idea that every day is your runway. Always dress to impress, because you never know when you might run into someone important. You always want to make an impression if you’re trying to get your name out there, or especially if you’re trying to brand yourself as a person like I am doing. My favorite quote of all time (isn’t totally fashion related) but it’s “dreams don’t work unless you do”. I don’t really know who quoted that, but I live by that daily. When I wake up, and I have the day off, I think of that quote, and I get up and start researching on how to better myself as a fashionista, or how to better my blog. I can tell you, hard work DOES pay off.

11.  My rock is… (Who in your life inspires you and has helped you get where you are today?)

  • My Dad. Though he’s not with me anymore, he was the only person I can honestly say fully supported me. Though the rest of my family was always there to help me, my Dad was the only person who stood behind every decision I have made. No matter if he knew it wasn’t a good one, he knows that I need to learn on my own how to succeed. I couldn’t be more proud to have such a loving and supportive father, who was always there to help me follow my dreams. Every time I told an adult who knew my dad about my business and blog, they all had the same answer. “Looks like hard work runs in the family” or “I see you get the hard working genes from your father”. I couldn’t agree more. Having two parents who were/and still are some of the most hardworking people I know, and that has definitely helped me get where I am right now.

12.  With the abundance of free time I have (don’t we all wish this was the case!), I like to…

  • Research everything about entrepreneurship
  • Play with my puppy, Oscar
  • Shop, shop, and shop
  • Did I mention shop?
