Outfit Of The Day

Hello and happy Monday, gorgeous! I hope you are surviving this muggy and humid heat wave and you had an amazing weekend! Even though the weekend just ended and, if you’re feeling the same way I am, you’re not quite ready to be back at work just yet, I thought I would still share a super chic outfit that is perfect for a summertime night on the town! So, although it is only Monday, hopefully this will give you a little something to get ready for, and excited about, next weekend!

Outfit Of The Day - Not Your Daughter's Jeans, OOTD

Top: Rebecca Taylor, $195; Jeans: NYDJ, $200; Shoes: Saint Laurent, $790; Clutch: Valentino, $1,190; Watch: Movado, $995; Bracelet: BERRICLE, $85; Earrings: kate spade new york, $38.

Is that outfit awesome, or what?! I don’t know about you ladies, but personally I’m a huge fan of white jeans. Since we can only wear them a few months out of the year, I try to get the most out of them during that little time period as possible! This pair of super skinny jeans (and not to mention slimming), from NYDJ, is super comfortable and look amazing on everyone I’ve seen rock them!

Personally, I am usually more of a jegging (jean legging) type of girl myself, but these have that same feel without making me feel like I am cheating the system (…I tend to live in leggings in the winter, so I always consider it a win when I actually put on “real” pants!). So basically, what I am trying to say is that I have recently discovered NYDJ, and they have absolutely amazing jeans for women. Plus, they’re super affordable, so that’s another bonus!

One of the many ways I like to wear white jeans is with a bright colored, fun top (like the one above), and simple/classic accessories. It really draws attention to the top and makes for a super classy, yet stylish and chic, look. I am typically a fan of different shades of blue, green, and teal/turquoise, because I feel like it makes my blue eyes stand out (although I’m not sure it actually does, I think that may just be my imagination, but it makes me feel good so I do it anyway!). However, I consider any color that shies away from my typical black to be “bright”; whatever your favorite color is to wear, I’m sure it will look awesome with your super skinny [white] jeans and some of your more classic and simple accessories. So, trust me beauties, if you haven’t before, try it out! I can promise you won’t be disappointed.

Hopefully y’all love this outfit (and white jeans, obviously!) as much as I do; I can’t wait to hear your thoughts, lovelies! I hope your week starts off on the right foot, have a great day, beauties!

OOTD: Thrifty Thursday

Hello everyone! After an extended period of absence, I’m back! I know, I know, it seriously feels like it’s been forever! With my summer job at the pool (I’m working as a lifeguard at the pool I worked at in high school and college until I find a job!), I have been super busy and have had barely any time to sleep and eat, let alone chat with all of you lovelies. It’s been rough ladies and gents, that I can promise… I’ve missed y’all so much, but I am going to do my best to stay on top of everything for the rest of summer, even if I am running in a bunch of different directions!

But, getting back to business… I just want to jump right back into things and hit the ground running! So, with that being said, we have a fabulous little ensemble for today’s Thrifty Thursday OOTD.

Fix Me Up Friday: A Twist On Your Everyday Pony

I don’t know about you guys, but personally (when I have enough hair…) I tend to live with my hair pulled back in some way during the summertime.  In an attempt to add some sort of style to this unfortunate and boring ‘do, I am always searching for new, fun, and chic ways to add a little life to my dull old ponytail. Well, today I have an amazing one for you all that I cannot wait to try out in the coming months! It looks like it could potentially be a little tricky, but I think with a little practice and lots of patients (something I need to work on anyway!), it is definitely doable and maybe even easy!

Not Your Average Pony - Fix Me Up Friday

Is that not adorable or what?! I know I am personally so excited to get to try this one out and I definitely plan on practicing before I actually attempt to wear it out (I have a feeling my first few tries might not be very pretty…), but I will certainly keep y’all posted about how it goes and if it looks presentable maybe I’ll even share my results!

OOTD: Trendy Tuesday

Hello and happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day and you’re enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve had today (that is, if your day has been as nice as mine has!). This is my last week of undergrad (well, college in general actually because I am not going to grad school!), and I am starting to feel a little sad about leaving this wonderful place I have called home for the past four years.  With graduation approaching this Friday and Saturday, it is all getting to be really real lately.  I guess I better get ready though, because whether I want it to or not, it’s still coming! I have been on the job hunt for quite some time, but I have really been cracking down lately.  While I would love love love to work in fashion (as you all know!) I am starting to really open myself up to other options as well, just to get my foot in the door somewhere, network with all kinds of people (you never know who they know!), and get some real experience under my belt.  So, I’m hoping something comes up soon, but until then I will just have to keep trying and keeping a positive attitude – eventually I have to get a job, right?! But, if any of you know anyone who is hiring or have any suggestions/ideas as far as a job lead, I would love to hear from you! Please email me at kristen.booth06@gmail.com with any comments or suggestions!

But, now that I just rambled on forever (we’re not getting any younger here, Kristen!)… Let’s finally get to today’s outfit of the day! This week’s Trendy Tuesday is the perfect outfit for a fun spring or summer day.  I am loving these lace/crochet shorts – I really need to get a pair! How To Look Hot All Day And All Night

Beat The Heat In These Stylish And Refreshing Outfits That Look Good From Day To Night

As August is quickly approaching, we all know the scorching hot days we are already experiencing are only going to get worse.  While there are many styles that are extremely cute and flattering on almost everyone, such as the maxi dress and skirt, they are not always the best for keeping us cool… And let’s be honest, I know I cannot stand to be wearing clothes that make me hotter than necessary on the already excruciatingly hot days.  Not only is it super difficult to find outfits that keep you cooled off while maintaining your usual trendy look, but having to change into an outfit to go out in after spending a long day out in the heat, can sometimes be worse! How can this be solved you might ask? Well, here are just a few suggestions that can be worn all day long, day to night, and still have the normal, appropriate look for whatever time of day it is and whatever you are doing!

After The Sun Sets:  For your nighttime adventures, uncuff the pants and add a pair of wedges or heels with a darker color (navy or black are always a good option) tank top or crop top.  Add a bright colored chunky statement necklace for a night pop of color and you are sure to be ready for whatever comes your way that evening!

After The Sun Sets: In the evening, switch out of your shorts and put on white jeans or regular blue denim jeans with a pair of cute wedges and some bigger accent pieces of jewelry and you’ll be the focal point of the night.

Spring/Summer 2013 Trends In Fashion

It’s Never too Early to Start Shopping… Warm Weather and Sunshine are Just Around the Corner!

Spring has arrived and we all know what that means, green grass, blooming flowers, warmer weather, and the new clothes that highlight the latest trends in fashion.

Pastels (In particular, Mint)

If you have been to any clothing retailer in the recent past, you have probably Michael Kors "Selma Large" Leather Satchel seen the extensive presence of pastel everything – pants, tops, dresses, shoes, accessories and so much more!

Of all the pastel colors, mint is one of the most popular this season.  Pretty much anything you could imagine or want is probably available in mint.  While you can pastels - mint pants definitely find mint pants or tops (and they’re super cute I must say!), one way to add this fun and unique color into your wardrobe (a little more subtly) is through accessories.  By adding mint colored jewelry or a mint handbag, you can give your outfit a little flare.

For the more bold, go out there and rock those mint pants that you love and buy that super cute mint top that you’ve been eyeing at the store! Without a doubt, by including mint and other pastel colors into your wardrobe, you will definitely be looking chic and fashionable.

Lace

While it is definitely not a new trend in fashion, lace is a very big one this spring. This spring and summer women everywhere will be dressing in this fun and feminine fabric.

fashionable lace dresses

Whether its tops, skirts, shorts, or dresses, lace is the thing to be wearing this season.  Dress it up and wear it to work or to date night; or dress it down and wear it for a day around town. Whatever you decide to wear it for, you will look super cute at the same time as elegant and sophisticated!

trendy striped clothing Stripes

Be it horizontal, vertical, slanted, or zig-zag, stripes are another huge trend in fashion
this season.  By building up your collection of stripes within your wardrobe now, you will definitely feel ahead of the game when the sun starts shining and the temperature beings to rise.

Floral

A natural reminder and association of the spring and summer months, floral clothing are huge this season!  One of the most popular articles of clothing we are seeing in floral floral pants prints are jeans and other pants.  Be it more dull and darker colors that we saw in the  winter months, or the brighter more colorful prints we are seeing for the spring and summer, flowers are blooming everywhere! Paired with a darker shirt, these colorful poppy floral pants are extremely stylish and really cute!

While these are only the tip of the iceberg for the trends in fashion this season, these are certainly a few of the largest.  By just filling your wardrobe with a few of each of these fashionable items, you’re sure to have everyone talking about how cute you look!  Don’t put it off for too long, start preparing your closet now so you don’t miss out on the cutest items! Good luck shopping!
